Reflection #2

In class on Tuesday and Thursday my partner and I were not able to complete very much. We spent a large majority of time watching the podcasts in preparation for the quiz and then actually taking the quiz. After finishing the quiz we had a very short amount of productive work time. We had already managed to finish our research we just had no idea about our presentation and Prezi layout, and when my partner went home early we knew that time would really be stressed. With Relay on Friday and other commitments that we have we really have to push ourselves to finish. This weekend we just have to crack down and really work hard to finish everything.

Reflection

In class on Friday, my partner and I decided that our time could be utilized best if we split up the essential questions and each researched the topics we felt most comfortable with. Initially I decided to research the varying perspectives of witnesses, perpetrators, etc. and Ame decided to research the different perspectives of how the U.S should have responded to aggressive policies and actions. With the additional objective we concluded that since Ame came across that topic a lot in her research she would just research that too. Although we split the topics up we are still helping each other figure out what info. is important and what isn't and also helping each other do additional research on topics that we are unsure of. We planned to do research this weekend and then we will be starting our Prezi soon.

Plans

Essential Question:
How could so many individuals/governments allow the Holocaust to happen? Why were there bystanders?

My partner and I plan to answer this question using these 3 objectives:
  • Compare and contrast different perspectives about how the U.S should respond to aggressive policies and actions taken by other nations at this time.
  • Assess the responses of the U.S and other nations to the violation of human rights that occurred during the Holocaust and other genocides.
  • Compare the varying perspectives of victims, survivors, bystanders, rescuers, and perpetrators during the Holocaust.
Possible modes of presentation include:
  • Prezi
  • Poster
  • Video
We still have to work on specifying how we want our product to look and what exactly it will contain.
Our primary sources will most likely be pictures, survivor testimonials, and various speeches made by officers and other government officials at the time.

By the end of last class we concluded that we will make a Prezi which will present our information in a creative way. After next class we plan to have our information planned out and hopefully a possibly layout for our Prezi.
